“@JoeBiden will be another way for the Vice President to engage our supporters, spread the Democratic message and support our candidates heading into the midterm elections,” a DNC spokesperson said, according to TIME.

"Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday thanked Ford Motor Company executive chairman Bill Ford Jr. “for saving our ass.” The vice president was referring to the 2008-2009 auto crisis, according to the pool report. 

Ford was the lone American automaker to not receive government bailout aid.

“Mark my words — not just in automobiles, but manufacturing coming back to America,” said Biden. “It's coming back because we have a legal system that protects people's contract rights, where intellectual property is protected.

Biden also predicted the revival of Detroit, home to the nation’s auto industry, and the largest American municipality to declare bankruptcy.

“This is not only an important city, but an iconic city,” said Biden. “It represents, symbolizes the manufacturing might of the United States of America all through the 20th century.....”

I guess Joe forgot about THIS.

The Joe Biden Show Stops by South African Embassy

Biden and wife Jill took a short motorcade ride across the street from their residence to the embassy on a cold, drizzly Monday morning. Stopping out front to look at the newly installed statue of Mandela, Biden called him "the most remarkable man I met in my whole career."

Biden recalled traveling all the way to South Africa in 1977 to meet  Mandela , but he was unable to because he was in the midst of a 27-year prison sentence.

The spotlight also provides Biden with an opportunity to remind people why Barack Obama chose him as his running mate and to tout his strong suit as he's mentioned as a possible presidential candidate in 2016.

"This trip, if nothing else, reinforces the notion of why Joe Biden was put on the ticket in the first place and has emerged as one of the best vice presidents in history," Larry Rasky, a longtime senior political adviser to the Democrat, told CNN. "He was equipped for this job before he got there. He's not going to China for that reason, of course, but it certainly doesn't hurt."

"It's definitely his wheelhouse. He has the relationships, the global credibility. There's no on-the-job training necessary."
