NYT Graciously Admits the 1st Amendment Applies to Conservatives

"The fact that conservatives benefit from the First Amendment is not something to bemoan. It is part of the constitutional bargain."- NYT
According to a new op-ed, folks on the left are “increasingly” making the claim that Republicans have “weaponized” the First Amendment. It seems the scary words are just too much for some to bear. Spoken or written ideas are simply too potent.

Fortunately, your political betters at The New York Times are bigger than that. They’ve just run an editorial written by David Cole. He’s the national legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union. You may know them as the organization that occasionally cares about a subset of constitutional issues they agree with. Despite the allegedly-serious argument that “the First Amendment’s very neutrality is problematic, because in an unequal society, the amendment will favor the haves over the have-nots,” the ACLU (and the Times) has decided that free speech is important. That the Constitution applies to to all citizens is quiet a concept!
"Critics are increasingly making the claim that under Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr., the First Amendment, once an important safeguard for progressive speech, has become a boon to corporations, conservatives and the powerful. But  the First Amendment doesn’t favor speech of the right or the left; it simply takes the government out of the business of controlling speakers by virtue of what they say.
The fact that conservatives benefit from the First Amendment is not something to bemoan. It is part of the constitutional bargain.
It simply means the First Amendment is operating as it should, neutrally preserving the lifeblood of democracy. …these developments should not lead liberals or progressives to lose faith in the First Amendment. For starters, the amendment’s core requirement is that the government must remain neutral regarding the content and viewpoint of speech. As a result, a decision protecting conservative speech will equally support liberal speech."
The very fact that the New York Times felt this was worth printing suggests that even they recognize the left has drifted closer to the fascist black hole than most of us (who are already deeply jaded) have suspected. Think about it. This means that the left is so enamored with the idea of eliminating free speech that the New York Times – itself a leftist-statist standard bearer – felt it necessary to admonish them.

We’re glad you’ve finally noticed …and we’re deeply concerned that you had to.

Wow, CBS. How’d This One Get Past the Editors?

Former Obama Political Operative Loretta L. and Her Onetime Homie Comey

An unexpected take from the CBS website
"Lacking evidence of actual wrongdoing—in last night’s interview, Comey yet again refused to accuse President Trump of obstruction—Comey turned instead to the petty and political. He talked about Mr. Trump’s appearance (“His face appeared slightly orange with bright white half-moons under his eyes where I assumed he placed small tanning goggles”), the size of his hands (“As he extended his hand, I made a mental note to check its size. It was smaller than mine, but did not seem unusually so.”) and he called the president “morally unfit.” It was the sort of snarky partisan punditry found on cable news 24/7."
"Then again, should we be surprised? If Comey ever did see actual wrongdoing by Mr. Trump, do we really believe we’d just be hearing about it from a notoriously leak-friendly fellow like Comey?"
"...…As Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight.com tweeted, it’s “not particularly honorable, if you have information you believe is of immediate and vital national importance, to wait 11 months to release it until you can have a giant book launch and publicity tour.” Silver—no Trump fan– calls the book "A Higher Royalty."

Lyin' Brian Blames Conservative Media for Mistrust of Establish Media

NewsBusters - In another hilarious case of irony, MSNBC's 'The 11th Hour'  host and serial liar Brian Williams teed up guest Charlie Sykes on Tuesday to lambaste conservative media (like the one you’re reading) for being why no one trusts mainstream media in the age of Trump and alternative facts.

Sykes and Williams offered no arguments or examples of how the establishment media have torpedoed their own credibility with false stories and a decidedly liberal slant. Instead, it was an exclusive attack on conservatives for supposedly enabling President Trump to offer misstatements without consequences.

Wiliams welcomed Sykes after his “provocative” Sunday column in The New York Times, which sent liberals swooning. Williams read the following excerpt from the piece entitled “Why nobody cares the President is lying”:
"The cumulative effects of attacks [on the mainstream media] was to delegitimize those outlets and essentially destroy much of the right’s immunity to false information. We thought we were creating a savvier, more skeptical audience. Instead, we opened the door for President Trump, who found an audience that could be easily misled."
Overall, the former conservative host stated that his “concern is not just that's Trump is lying” but “it's an attack on the concept of the truth itself — of credibility and my main concern is that you'll have millions of voters at some point who will basically say, "what is truth?"

Failing to realize that he’s joined an echo-chamber in which Manhattan elites sit around reading The New York Times and The New Yorker while watching The Daily Show, Sykes knocked anyone supporting Trump as "picking the facts that confirm our bias, that support our guy and ignore the facts that don't support our guy. And then we're in a very, very, you know, dangerous place for democracy," he surmised.

Once again, the irony can’t be lost on how this is occurring on a Brian Williams-hosted program. The man who lied about seeing bodies floating during Hurricane Katrina and being shot down during the Iraq War .-  READ MORE

Reuters Tells Reporters to Be Honest and Above Board and Just Cover Trump Like Any Other Tin Horn Dictator

The powers that be at Reuters sent their Reports and Reporterettes a staff a memo called "Covering Trump the Reuters Way"outlining how the organization should cover the Trump administration: Pretty much the same as it would any other authoritarian regime where you'd be ridiculously naive to take the government at its word.

How do you cover someone who declares journalists “among the most dishonest human beings on earth” and whose  Pres Sec. called the New York Times to label the press the “opposition party” and to warn the media to “keep its mouth shut and just listen”? So what's the answer? Avoid the administration? Oppose it? Trade flattering coverage for access?  Heck no: Just cover Trump’s America like you would a bunch of the other places Reuters works from.
"Reuters is a global news organization that reports independently in more than 100 countries, including many in which the media is unwelcome and frequently under attack. I am perpetually proud of our work in places such as Turkey, the Philippines, Egypt, Iraq, Yemen, Thailand, China, Zimbabwe, and Russia, nations in which we sometimes encounter some combination of censorship, legal prosecution, visa denials, and even physical threats to our journalists."
Not that he’s saying the Trump administration is anything like those places. (Wink Wink) Just reminding reporters that they're there. Duh! And even in those difficult environments for reporting, which are not being directly compared to the Trump White House, oh, certainly not, the basics of good journamalism still apply: Get solid facts and report fairly.

So The Powers That Be at Reuters offer some Do’s and Don’ts for reporting on the Trump regime. Here are some of the Do’s:
*Become ever-more resourceful: If one door to information closes, open another one.
Or as they say in the business, make it up and use "Unnamed Sources"
* Give up on hand-outs and worry less about official access. They were never all that valuable anyway. Our coverage of Iran has been outstanding, and we have virtually no official access. What we have are sources.
Yeah, we remember their coverage about how great Barky and John Kerry handled the Iran Nuclear deal, don't we?
* Get out into the country and learn more about how people live, what they think, what helps and hurts them, and how the government and its actions appear to them, not to us. Find out what the ordinary American thinks. If you're assigned a government “minder,” be careful to avoid putting the ordinary folk you interview in peril of retribution. Try to find chances to speak to people when you're not under surveillance. Be aware that in the course of pursuing ordinary journalism you may be arrested and executed for espionage.
Washington, Tehran, not really that different.

And then there are the Dont’s:
* Don’t pick unnecessary fights or make the story about us. We may care about the inside baseball but the public generally doesn't and might not be on our side even if it did.
* Don’t vent publicly about what might be understandable day-to-day frustration. In countless other countries, we keep our own counsel so we can do our reporting without being suspected of personal animus. We need to do that in the U.S., too.

* Don’t take too dark a view of the reporting environment: It’s an opportunity for us to practice the skills we’ve learned in much tougher places around the world and to lead by example — and therefore to provide the freshest, most useful, and most illuminating information and insight of any news organization anywhere.
Translation: Yes, the weather's nicer in Mombasa this time of year, but you can still do good reporting without whining about how Sean Spicer never answers your questions. Remember people, we have to set a good example for the rest of the journalists. Maybe there's even hope for CNN (Just kidding!).  And no, you can't put the necessary bribes for access to disenchanted left over Obama administration appointees and potential Trump back stabbers on your expense account. Okay, if you do, just be sure and log it as “office supplies.”

Memo to Time Magazine:

Make Hillary Time's Person of the Year
For the sake of your corporation, and its reputation,
Time should name Hillary its Person of the Year.

Don Surber
Memo to Time:
Do it.
Get it all out in the open.  Let the staff praise her like "Saturday Night Live" did in that "Hallelujah" opening. The cast had not been as somber since its first post 9/11 show.
Publish those paeans to her that your staff giddily wrote in anticipation of her coronation. It's OK.
This award will be therapeutic and profitable. While a plurality of American citizens elected Trump, a plurality of American residents voted for her. They'll buy copies, sure.
This award will cement Hillary's place as a stepping stone for that future First Woman President -- likely a Republican -- who will break that mythical glass ceiling.
This award will finally show the world once and for all the anti-conservative bias of Time-Warner and all its properties, including CNN. Embrace it. In fact, use it as a marketing tool.
No one will be surprised.
You see the big problem with the media is that it lies to the public about its bias. In so doing, the staff of Time and the rest show a contempt for the people they lie to. Americans are insulted. Media credibility is so low it no longer exists except in the heads of a smaller number of people than believe the moon landing was fake.
Come out of the closet. Show some Caitlyn Jenner courage.
Be who you are. Liberal.
Trump won't mind. Oh he will Tweet of course. But look what happened to Merkel. After you bypassed The Donald for her a year ago, Germany went to pot. I do not want that for my country.
Hillary is a good choice all the way around. Her life cannot get worse, and America will be spared the Curse of Time's Person of the Year.

Trump Tweets and Drives the Media Crazy

Of the many tradition-breaking moments in the last election, one has been the colossal use of Twitter by President-elect Donald Trump that drove the media crazy. He was at it again over the weekend, this time messaging his thoughts on companies that depart the US for abroad, taking American jobs with them. The Washington Post headlined it this way:

Trump threatens 35 percent tariff on U.S. companies that move jobs overseas
The pronouncements came in a string of early morning tweets. Trump declared that he intends to incentivize businesses to stay in America by lowering corporate taxes and slashing regulations, two key components of his economic agenda. But he also warned that companies with offshore factories would face a 35 percent tariff on goods sold back to the United States.
Notice this line: “The pronouncements came in a string of early morning tweets.” The online version of the Post re-published the images of the tweets as well, all time stamped between 6:41 and 6:57 am Sunday morning.Trump is a regular early riser, so there is no reason to think anything other than that the newly-elected president was already at his Trump Tower desk at work.

But the fact that Trump turned Twitter and tweeting into such a deadly 21st century political weapon in his successful campaign -- a campaign that right up until election night most media savants were insisting he would lose and most probably lose in a landslide -- has stuck in the media’s craw. Tweeting, you see, is “un-presidential” according to these critics, drawing comments like this one back in 2015 in the anti-Trump USA Today:
“Are American voters really looking for a president who spends his evenings sending out nasty and petty tweets about journalists rather than, say, working on ways to defeat the Islamic State?”
That "Doesn't have he have something better to do than rip the media?" line continues today. Aside from the idiocy of suggesting that a President Trump would not be “working on ways to defeat” ISIS, the real irritant in that story was that Trump was using Twitter to target journalists who quite clearly had targeted him.

Smart presidents presented with a brand new and effective communication technology quickly picked up on it and turned it to their political and presidential use. John F. Kennedy did this with television.

While Hillary Clinton will not be president, it is worth noting that what helped bring her down was another modern technology tool…e-mail. Now comes President-elect Trump, following the path of Lincoln, FDR and JFK, using the newest 21st century communication tool - Twitter. And like those three historic predecessors, he is using it with great political effectiveness.

The media's metrics for victory were wrong. Trump's were right. Which, one suspects is exactly what drives the media crazy. Make no mistake. No matter how “restrained” the new president will be once in office come January, you can make book that he has found a highly effective method to get around the mainstream media that so despises him.

All of which will just make the media that much more relentless and make them despise him all the more.......

The Media Transition to Trump

"Life is not fair to losers, or the critics of Donald Trump, and the way he won the presidency. He just won't stand still and give the rotten eggs a chance to hit their mark.
The Donald is conducting his transition to the White House in his own way, taking his time, choosing his Cabinet carefully, and rationing misery to his detractors. His critics, particularly in the know-it-all media, are having trouble with a transition of their own.
Almost a month has passed since the election, and the critics, who are supposed to be working their way through the five stages of grief -- denial, anger, bargaining, depression and finally acceptance -- are stuck in denial. They should be angry by now, and learning how to bargain with their emotions."— Wesley Pruden

Trump Election a 'Wake Up Call For the Media

Donald Trump's electoral victory took some Americans by surprise, but perhaps none were as stunned as the liberal news media. MRC Vice President of Culture and Business Dan Gainor called Trump’s win a “full on repudiation of the elites in news and entertainment” who “act like nothing goes on in the rest of America.” He appeared on Fox Business Network’s Intelligence Report Nov. 9.
“I think it should be a wakeup call for the media. They’re tied into this New York, LA, DC axis, and they act like nothing goes on in the rest of America. “They don’t wanna cover people in their faith, they don’t wanna cover people in their jobs, they don’t wanna cover the impact of these climate regulations, how they’re devastating coal states across the country,”
After Trump won the election liberals in both the news media and Hollywood had a collective meltdown. ABC’s Martha Raddatz got choked up as she bashed Trump, Andrea Mitchell claimed “history put on hold yet again,” and celebrities whined about wanting to puke over the election results.
See Video Here
Alex Pareene, editor of Deadspin, an off-shoot of the sewer media 'Gawker', unleashed an extended diatribe in reaction to the election of Donald Trump Wednesday:
"Blame white people. Blame white men in particular, but reserve plenty of blame for white women. Blame old people...Blame rich people, as always. Blame the public...for Donald fucking Trump getting more votes than Donald Duck....Blame the Founders for enshrining white supremacy in our constitution and making it nearly impossible to fully expunge. Blame a political system that advantages rural areas at the expense of urban ones, mostly in order to preserve our white supremacist heritage."
Blame the deep-seated misogyny of the...conservative press, which—with a clutch assist from much of the mainstream press—caused a politician who is calculating and ambitious in mostly ordinary ways to be perceived as a conniving Lady Macbeth, while somehow allowing a man with an incredibly well-documented history of chauvinism, harassment, and outright sexual abuse to pawn it off as regular, if slightly old-fashioned, alpha masculinity....."
And people wonder why we don't elect Presidents by popular vote.

The Nightmare the Liberal Media Sees When They Close Their Eyes at Night

Debating the Debaters
"Last night was a vivid, real-time illustration of how the media think of the American people: 'We're really interested in how you think! So, please, come in, sit down and . . . let the professionals ask the questions.'
Man of the people Anderson Cooper, son of Gloria Vanderbilt, and Martha Raddatz, who had President Obama as a guest at her wedding, must have panicked when ordinary Americans invited to what was billed as a Town Hall debate in St. Louis didn't ask the questions they were supposed to ask. ...
So it went as the night wore on: For long periods of time the invited voters had as much influence on events as wallpaper. The moderators went after the candidates, mostly but not exclusively aiming their questions at Trump, repeatedly interrupting him and telling him his time was up. ...
Voters can be forgiven if they're wondering why journalists keep mistaking themselves for the star of every show, even one that was designed to give the people a voice." - Kyle Smith, New York Post

USA Today Flushes Self Down Toilet

The Editorial Board has never taken sides in the presidential race.
We're doing it now.

In the 34-year history of USA TODAY, the Editorial Board has never taken sides in the presidential race. Instead, we’ve expressed opinions about the major issues and haven’t presumed to tell our readers, who have a variety of priorities and values, which choice is best for them. Because every presidential race is different, we revisit our no-endorsement policy every four years. We’ve never seen reason to alter our approach. Until now.

This year, the choice isn’t between two capable major party nominees who happen to have significant ideological differences. This year, one of the candidates — Republican nominee Donald Trump — is, by unanimous consensus of the Editorial Board, unfit for the presidency.

NBC News Boss: Lyin' Brian is Off The Hook

And there I was, sitting in for Paul during the
recording of Sgt. Pepper's.....
Washington Post media blogger Erik Wemple grabbed a quick interview with NBC News president Andrew Lack at the first presidential debate at Hofstra University. Lack predictably talked up Brian Williams and his new show The 11th Hour as "off to a nice start." Actually, Williams is losing in the key 25-54 demo to CNN's Don Lemon. Worse yet, both CNN and MSNBC are trounced by an O'Reilly Factor rerun on Fox.
But Lack tried to claim the serial-exaggeration scandal that forced Williams out of his NBC Nightly News anchor chair last year was already "ancient history".
The blog Inside Cable News disagreed with Lack's "ancient history" spin, criticizing NBC:
"It chose to bury the story rather than do what CBS did with the Thornburgh report which did a complete and very public number on Rathergate".
A Matt Lauer interview only compounded things."
“I told the story correctly for years before I told it incorrectly. I was not trying to mislead people. That, to me, is a huge difference here.”
Lauer pushed back:
“But wait a second, you say, ‘I was not trying to mislead people,’ but I need to make sure we understand each other here. Did you know when you went on Nightly News that you were telling a story that was not true?”
Again, Williams denied intentional dishonesty:
"I never intended to. It got mixed up. It got turned around in my mind.”
When asked whether Williams had left behind some unfinished business in that Lauer interview, Lack responded, “Ancient history to me.”
This "ancient history" spin from NBC is a also a little strange coming from a network whose newscast is still broadcasting hyperbole about "Bridgegate Bombshells."

Laughing at the Self-Destruction of the Media Gatekeepers

by Kurt Schlichter:
The media meltdown we are gobbling popcorn to right now is the result of two key phenomena – we normals have grown tired of the media elite’s lies, and today’s technology allows us to ignore the people who would presume to tell us what we can and cannot know. As the walls collapse around the few remaining information gates and we barbarians bypass them, gatekeeper gigs are becoming as rare as jobs for millennials with masters degrees in Feminist Interpretive Dance.
Now you media creeps are finding yourself ignored and irrelevant as America proceeds to do whatever the hell it pleases whether you like it or not. We don’t need you; we can and will get our information by ourselves. How I yearn to fill a hot tub with the salty, sweet tears of a thousand so-called journalists who decided to put their money down on progressive ideology instead on objectivity and public service. You just crapped out. That’s what you get when you always bet on hack.
Just when you thought you were going to become a Lord of the Fourth Estate, you idiots completely overplayed your hand right when technology gave people an alternative to your old school media monopoly. You pushed us past the point of toleration just as the web created other places for us to go. And now, look at you.  Just a bunch of pompous, boring, nobodies without reputations, without respect, without futures.
We’re laughing at you.
Then Donald Trump comes along and outrages you, but not for what he says or does. Hell, you haven’t seen so many eyeballs turned your way since that unpleasantness with the pumpkin-infused craft ale and trans lifestyle editor at last year’s winter solstice office party. No, Trump outrages you because he thinks you’re a clod and a joke and he mocks you, and no matter what you say, no matter what you do, no matter how much futile fussiness you manage to muster in that concave chest of yours, you can’t dent his popularity.
You’ve dumped everything you have on Donald Trump and he’s still tied with your ancient, crusty crone candidate Hillary. And you realize that you don’t have the power you were promised. You don’t have the influence you sought. You have nothing.
No one cares anymore.

Mainstream Media Admits It May “Never Recover” from 2016 Election

AntiMedia - In a revealing statement that flew largely under the radar earlier this month, members of the mainstream media admitted it would never recover from its irresponsible and negligent coverage of the 2016 presidential election. A recent column published in the New York Post referred to the media’s reporting as “the complete collapse of American journalism as we know it.”

In his article for the Post, Fox News contributor Michael Goodwin discussed the media’s pro-Clinton bias – one recognized by supporters of virtually every other presidential candidate, from Bernie Sanders to Jill Stein to Gary Johnson and, of course, Donald Trump. Even Americans who don’t necessarily have a horse in the 2016 race notice the slant.
“By torching its remaining credibility in service of Clinton,” Goodwin wrote, “the mainstream media’s reputations will likely never recover, nor will the standards. No future producer, editor, reporter or anchor can be expected to meet a test of fairness when that standard has been trashed in such willful and blatant fashion.”
Indeed, he is correct in this regard. The Clinton machine has effectively infiltrated corporate media. Last year, the Intercept reported MSNBC failed to disclose that multiple pundits who spoke favorably about Clinton were actually employees of a consulting firm hired by her campaign. More recently, embarrassing DNC leaks released in July revealed DNC officials attempted to craft narratives painting Sanders in a negative light to undermine his campaign. They also organized a secret fundraiser with the Washington Post and were careful to keep it under the radar.

There is no question the mainstream media has sided with the political establishment in its decision to craft narratives that paint Clinton as a competent leader who is the only option in the face of a catastrophic Trump presidency. Indeed, in spite of Clinton’s lack of popularity among the general population, the media continues to suggest she is the only thing standing between America and its descent into fascism.

While the degree of negative press Trump has received is undeniably staggering, Goodwin failed to recognize — at least in this article — that like Clinton, Trump is wildly unpopular and  the mainstream media is undoubtedly fervent in their coverage of Trump.  Therein lies the problem: rarely does the mainstream media devote as much time to questioning Hillary Clinton, her rhetoric, and her policies.

From the corporate media’s flagrantly irresponsible coverage of the Iraq War during the Bush years to the media’s ongoing blackouts of relevant news in favor of more superficial, inconsequential stories, Goodwin’s assertion that 2016 is the year American journalism died is as factual as the content churned out by Fox News.

The Bizarre Media Blackout Of Hacked George Soros Documents

The mainstream press continues to ignored the leak of thousands of eye-opening documents that expose the Billionaire Puppetmaster's far-flung devious efforts to push his leftist views in the U.S. and abroad.

IBD- Leaked documents released a few days ago provide juicy insider details of how a fabulously rich businessman has been using his money to influence elections in Europe, underwrite an extremist group, target U.S. citizens who disagreed with him, dictate foreign policy, and try to sway a Supreme Court ruling, among other things. Pretty compelling stuff, right? Not if it involves leftist billionaire George Soros. In this case, the mainstream press couldn't care less.

Saturday, more than 2,500 documents going back to 2008 that it pilfered from Soros' Open Society Foundations' servers and leaked to the Internet. The mainstream media have shown zero interest in this gold mine of information.

The leaked documents show how Soros' far-flung international organizations attempted to manipulate Europe's 2014 elections. The "List of European Elections 2014 Projects" details over 90 Soros efforts he had under way that year.

The documents reveal that Soros has poured nearly $4 million into anti-Israel groups, with a goal of "challenging Israel's racist and anti-democratic policies." Here at home, they show that Soros proposed paying the Center for American Politics $200,000 to conduct a smear campaign against conservative activists.

Recently an October 2015 document came to light showing that Soros' Open Society U.S. Programs had donated $650,000 to "invest in technical assistance and support for the groups at the core of the burgeoning #BlackLivesMatter movement." Since then, several BLM protests have turned violent. That same document details how this group successfully used its "extensive networks" to pressure the Obama administration into increasing the number of refugees it would take to 100,000, despite concerns that Islamic terrorists could use the refugee program to infiltrate the U.S.

A separate memo details how Soros tried to use his clout to sway Supreme Court justices into approving President Obama's unilateral effort to rewrite immigration law. This year alone, Soros has given $7 million to the Clinton-supporting Priorities USA super-PAC, and a total of $25 million to support Democrats and their causes.

Anyone with this much power and influence demands close media scrutiny. Particularly when he has extremely close ties to the would-be next president of the United States.

Media Suddenly Interested in Vetting College Years

RedState
Scott Walker has come from out of nowhere (if you weren’t paying attention), survived three elections in four years as a Republican in a blue state, and is making waves with statements and policies that drive the Left insane. However, there is one thing that makes Walker different from other potential presidential candidates – he never finished college. And, the college life of a presidential candidate didn’t seem to concern the media in 2008 when no one decided to vet Obama’s collegiate career or figure out what the hell he might have done (aside from drugs!) in college. In 2016, it suddenly matters.
"Today, Walker, 47, is the governor of Wisconsin and a strong contender for the GOP’s 2016 presidential nomination. He is known for an astounding political hot streak: Since 1993, he has run 11 races for state legislature, county executive and governor — including a highly unusual recall election in 2012 — and he has won them all.
But before that streak came a string of defeats — the campus election, his failure to finish college and his first campaign for state office."
It’s funny. Barack Obama had absolutely no accomplishments prior to running for office, and we were told nothing of his educated life by a media whose job is supposed to be informing the public. Scott Walker, meanwhile, dropped out of college, gave a reason as to why, and it warrants a full investigation by the very same media that protected Obama’s past. The media, once again is showing a distinct bias, and will make no change no matter who calls it out or how loudly it is called out.

A Personal Opinion on the Brian Williams Debacle:

By Robert Janicki

Put aside Williams' charm, personality and sense of humor, and his occasional self deprecation for the moment, and look to Williams the journalist and then pivot to his second and possibly greater role as a celebrity.

This celebrity role of Williams, seems to have eclipsed his role as a journalist. Somewhere along the line in time, Williams' celebrity overtook his role as journalist.  I have seen Williams appear many times on various late night broadcast TV or cable TV comedy shows. He has all the tale telling requisites and timing of the very best comedians of our time. He could easily be another Stephen Colbert or Jon Stewart.

And that seems to be the genesis of Williams' conflict between celebrated TV news anchor and multifaceted celebrity across a greater social spectrum. Williams, at some level in his role as journalist, may have believed that he was running out, or coming up short, of heroic and self aggrandizing stories to enhance his dual role of journalist and, by association, his celebrity and needed more and greater tales to perpetuate his celebrity persona, if not his role as professional journalist and top ranked news anchor position.

It seems that being the top broadcast network news anchor was not enough to feed his alter ego of celebrity. Williams needed to expand his celebrity and that's when he went over the line of reality and into a world of self delusion of some sort. Either Williams is self delusional or he purposely has tried to delude the public to enhance his persona.

Is Williams a narcissist? I don't know, but I do know that people that live in those higher reaches of celebrity have at the very least, elements of narcissism. All one has to do to substantiate this assertion is to look to Barack Obama and his complex makeup of narcissist behaviors. Looking to the future as it rolls around in six months, I cannot see Williams coming back as the anchor of the NBC Nightly News and here's why.

Expect many more of Williams' lies and fabrications to pop up as every amateur sleuth turns up video clips on what will turn out to be an avalanche of previous prevarications, fabrications or misstatements by Williams. It will happen. Some will be inconsequential and others will have greater substance and significance. Time will not be kind and forgiving for Williams. Quite the opposite will be true, as more of Williams' prevarications come to the light of day and are published for all to see.

The problem for NBC is not just a matter of having the public forgive Williams, as much as it is having the public forget Williams' serial lying over more than a decade. I think that may well be a hurdle too high to overcome.

Jon Stewart announced that he is leaving Comedy Central by the end of the year. Maybe Williams can pickup that gig. He certainly has the comedic skills of telling tall tales.

Christian Science Monitor Joins Main Stream Media in the Stupid End of the Pool

Questions if Oklahoma Beheading was Really a Terrorist Act?

According to a staff writer at the Christian Science Monitor, the islamic beheader of Moore  Oklahoma may not have any formal connection with terror groups, and seems to just be "deeply sympathetic toward extremist Muslim groups" as proven by his post of "rambling Islamist invectives, photos of Osama bin Laden, and an image of a decapitation" on his social media outlets.

In other words, his lack of possessing an official sanctioned islamic beheading permit, it wasn't an actual act of terrorism.

Hasn't CSM heard about "self radicalized" terrorists being encouraged to act out as "lone wolves" by ISIS and other islamist terrorist groups?  Seriously, just how dumb can CSM be?  They're so open minded, their brains have fallen out.  Okay, they're liberals, so that explains their confused and convoluted reasoning.  But it doesn't excuse their duty to report the facts and let readers draw their own conclusions.
Not satisfied with showing the world how open minded they are, CSM goes on to demonstrate that they are completely clueless in the real world by trying our patience with their over intellectualizing of a very simple concept.  Nolen engaged in an act of savage barbarism commonly practiced by the most evil of the evil islamic terrorists.  He was an acknowledged convert to radical Islam.  The first step to prove his bona fides was to go out and convert infidels to islam.  The second and more important step was to kill infidels who refused to convert.  That pretty much defines his intent to prove himself to others in the Islamic terrorist movement.
I'm not even certain CSM would accept a confession from Nolen that he was acting as an islamic terrorist.  I suspect CSM would jump in and claim he was merely lead astray for the moment when his true intent was to kill based upon the silly ass concept of "workforce violence".  The trouble with this idea is that Nolen did not seek out and kill anyone in his former work group that may have lead to his firing, which CSM seems to be asserting was his motivation for decapitating one woman and seriously injuring another woman.
At one level or another, liberals are nothing more than apologists for terrorists, much like they are apologists for minorities that cannot control themselves and engage in all kinds of mayhem, including murder, because they have been socially and economically deprived by the dominant white society.  That's plain bullshit that has been called out by Black conservatives as ridiculous and not based n demonstrable facts.
